A one-time lawyer for former President Donald Trump has pleaded guilty to a felony charge in Georgia. Jenna Ellis said that when representing President Trump, she relied on information provided by other lawyers—but did not fact-check it, or carry out the appropriate due diligence. Speaking outside a courtroom in New York, former President Trump reacted to Ellis’ plea. NTD spoke to Paul Kamenar, lead counsel at National Legal and Policy Center, for his insight on the plea deal and its possible ramifications.
