This article by Joe Schoffstall appears on the Washington Free Beacon website:

Democratic representative Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) continues to push cash from her campaign committee to her now-husband’s consulting firm.

Omar’s new committee filings, posted Wednesday afternoon, show that during the first three months of the year, the campaign paid $292,905 to the E Street Group. E Street is a political consulting firm owned by Omar’s husband, Tim Mynett. The cash, which reportedly went toward an array of services that included fundraising and advertisements, accounted for over 40 percent of the campaign’s $674,892 in disbursements. Mynett and Omar

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) continues to violate Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations governing travel by her campaign staff. As detailed in an amendment to our August 28, 2019 FEC Complaint, Omar failed to itemize travel expenses to E Street Group, a firm owned by her boyfriend Tim Mynett in her FEC disclosure reports for the third quarter of 2019.

The filing reports Total Operating Expenditures of $441,638.95. Of that amount, disbursements totaling $146,712.64 were reported on Schedule B to E Street Group, LLC, owned by Tim Mynett.

Disbursements to E Street Group, LLC totaled more than a third of total disbursements and

Indeed, her most enduring legislative achievement to date has been to send a February 10 tweet referring to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee as being “all about the Benjamins” (i.e., $100 bills). Yet it appears the Somalia-born Muslim freshman congresswoman, now 37, has ethics issues that are coming back to haunt her. They might not jeopardize her political career, but they just might dim the halo over her head in the eyes of her admirers.

At the start of this month, news reports surfaced that the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board has been zeroing in on Omar for possibly diverting nearly $6,000 from her campaign war chest to personal uses while serving as a member of that state’s legislature. Among the cited unauthorized purposes were travel to Boston and … Read More ➡
