After Censoring Conservatives, Zuckerberg Cozies Up to Biden

Mark Zuckerberg

Free (he thinks) from a Trump administration that constantly harps on his company’s censorship of conservatives, CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly plans to promote progressive agenda items on Facebook in order to ingratiate himself with an expected President Joe Biden.

Not exactly the favorite social media platform of liberals – who think Facebook has granted President Donald Trump and his supporters too much liberty on the site to spread “misinformation,” “hate speech” and non-“expert” (think Anthony Fauci) opinions – Zuckerberg feels he has some making up to do with the Democrats he expects to be in power starting in 2021.

While not considered the threat that is Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is known for her advocacy to “break up Big Tech,” Biden still isn’t happy with Facebook. He criticized the platform because it refused to fact-check political advertisements, and earlier this year called for the Read More ➡

Would Tech Oligarchs Dominate a Biden Administration?

Should Joe Biden end up being the next President of the United States, former Alphabet (parent company of Google) CEO and Chairman Eric Schmidt has been talked about the most as his top advisor for tech issues.

The Financial Times reported last week that Biden is looking to the big names in Silicon Valley to create an in-White-House tech task force, led by Schmidt. The article said Biden has already hired away top executives from Apple and Facebook for his prospective transition team. And according to CBS News, his political team is advised by executives with tech firms formed by Schmidt and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, both mega-donors for Biden’s election efforts.

Some far-leftists apparently held out hope that Biden might gravitate towards the Elizabeth Warren “break up Big Tech” perspective and embrace more big government regulation, especially after he approved an October Read More ➡

Hunter Biden Offered Access to Chinese Firm in Exchange for Investments

AP/Wide World Photos

This article by Alana Goodman appears today in the Washington Free Beacon. It includes comments by NLPC’s Tom Anderson.

Hunter Biden touted his family’s political clout to solicit a $5 million investment from China for his U.S.-based financial advisory firm, according to a court filing by a white-collar convict who claims he had an inside view into Biden’s murky foreign business dealings.

John Galanis, 77, argues that the younger Biden used his businesses as a “pay-to-play influence peddling operation” by offering access to influential people in Washington, D.C., in exchange for investments. Galanis, who was convicted in 2018 of defrauding investors and the Wakpamni tribal community, states in the affidavit that his son, Jason Galanis, provided him with details of Biden’s offshore deals after befriending Biden’s longtime business partner Devon Archer.

In the affidavit, Galanis says that Biden and Archer worked to secure $15 million for their financial … Read More ➡

Watchdog Asks Feds to Investigate University, Biden Center for Millions in Anonymous China Donations

From Just the News by Daniel Payne:

A watchdog group is asking the U.S. Education Department to investigate the University of Pennsylvania and its Biden Center, a diplomacy and global engagement initiative named after the Democratic presidential candidate, for accepting millions of dollars in anonymous funds from Chinese donors.

The complaint, filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, says that over the past three years, the university has accepted around $22 million in anonymous funding from Chinese sources. That’s out of a total of more than $70 million from Chinese donors during that time, the NLPC said.

Those significant funds, including the anonymous amounts, rolled in after the Biden Center was announced in early 2017 and launched in February 2018. The center is located in downtown Washington, D.C.

Government Watchdog Raises Questions About Chinese Influence at University of Pennsylvania’s Biden Center

From the Washington Free Beacon by Alana Goodman:

When Joe Biden announced he was opening a foreign policy center at the University of Pennsylvania, the goals for the project were ambitious.
At its founding in 2018, Biden described the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement as “a place where policymakers here and abroad will know they can be in touch with some of the best minds.”

The center is one of several organizations Biden founded since leaving the White House in 2017, including the domestic policy-focused Biden Institute at the University of Delaware and the Biden Cancer Initiative, all launched in 2017. All three entities have refused to reveal the sources of their funding, a potential landmine for the Democrats’ presumptive presidential nominee that raises questions about the influence of individual, corporate, and foreign donations on the presidential candidate.

The lack of transparency has drawn the attention of … Read More ➡

Complaint Filed Against University of Pennsylvania and Biden Center for Undisclosed China Mega-Donations

National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), a nonprofit public interest organization, filed a complaint with the Department of Education requesting that it conduct a full investigation into the University of Pennsylvania’s failure to disclose the source of millions of dollars of donations from China since 2013 to the university and its Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement as required by law.

Since 2017 alone, when the Biden Center opened and after Joe Biden announced he was running for President in April 2018, the university received over $70 million from China, of which $22 million were listed as “Anonymous.”  Federal law requires the disclosure of the source of all donations over $250,000.  The complaint also requests referral to the Department of Justice to file an enforcement action seeking compliance and to recoup all the costs of the investigation.

The complaint notes that the Biden Center co-sponsored the 2020 Penn China Read More ➡
