Following a complaint filed by National Legal and Policy Center with the Department of Justice that demanded an investigation of the son and brother of Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden, the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee has made a similar request.
Sen. Charles Grassley, an Iowa Republican, wrote a detailed, seven-page letter to Attorney General William Barr on Monday, urging him to probe Hunter Biden and James Biden – the son and brother of the former vice president, respectively – about deals they cut with a state-owned Chinese energy company and their representation of foreign actors in the United States.
The inquiry focuses on the Bidens’ work with CEFC China Energy Co. Ltd., which Grassley accurately characterized as “an extension of the Chinese government.” He asked Barr to investigate whether the Bidens violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act by failing to notify the Justice Department … Read More ➡
National Legal and Policy Center today filed a 12-page complaint with the Department of Justice demanding an investigation of Hunter Biden, the Truman National Security Project, and the University of Pennsylvania and its Penn Biden Center, to determine whether they are in compliance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act for engaging in political activities on behalf of Burisma and Chinese interests.
NLPC’s complaint draws upon recent press reports that disclose incriminating emails and text messages on Hunter Biden’s laptop computer which is in the hands of the FBI and statements against Hunter and his father by Tony Bobulinski, Hunter’s partner on Burisma, the Ukrainian oil company. Bobulinski was recently interviewed by the FBI in a criminal investigation into activities that most likely involve money laundering, tax evasion, wire fraud, and other crimes, and implicates his uncle James Biden, and his father, Joe Biden.
The complaint cites one … Read More ➡

From RealClearInvestigations by Paul Sperry:
A search of Justice Department databases reveals that Hunter Biden failed to register as a foreign agent while promoting the interests of foreign business partners in Washington, including brokering meetings with his father and other government officials, and RealClear Investigations has learned that at least one Senate committee is investigating whether Joe Biden’s son violated federal laws requiring disclosure of such foreign contacts.
The Obama administration did not prosecute Hunter Biden for potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, despite its much more aggressive pursuit of FARA cases relative to other administrations — including its opening of criminal investigations on no fewer than six Trump campaign advisers in 2016.
NewsMax TV- Tom Anderson of the National Legal and Policy Center discusses why the FBI has failed to act on the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop. Anderson also discusses the recent censorship of the group’s billboard with an image of LeBron James, who is gagged by a Chinese flag, accompanied by the message “Silence is Violence.”… Read More ➡
This article by Alana Goodman appears today in the Washington Free Beacon. It includes comments by NLPC’s Tom Anderson.
Hunter Biden touted his family’s political clout to solicit a $5 million investment from China for his U.S.-based financial advisory firm, according to a court filing by a white-collar convict who claims he had an inside view into Biden’s murky foreign business dealings.
John Galanis, 77, argues that the younger Biden used his businesses as a “pay-to-play influence peddling operation” by offering access to influential people in Washington, D.C., in exchange for investments. Galanis, who was convicted in 2018 of defrauding investors and the Wakpamni tribal community, states in the affidavit that his son, Jason Galanis, provided him with details of Biden’s offshore deals after befriending Biden’s longtime business partner Devon Archer.
In the affidavit, Galanis says that Biden and Archer worked to secure $15 million for their financial … Read More ➡
Alana Goodman in today’s Washington Examiner reports that Joe Biden’s son Hunter was associated with a firm that received more than $130 million in financial bailout funds. The firm called Rosemont Capital then set up a fund that was incorporated in the Cayman Islands, presumably for the purpose of avoiding U.S. taxes. From the article:
“This is a great example of the suspicion of many Americans that these bailouts were used to benefit connected insiders while ordinary Americans went broke,” said Tom Anderson, director of the Government Integrity Project at the National Legal and Policy Center, an organization that was critical of TALF at the time.
The bailout program was known as the Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility, or TALF. It was separate from the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) but was part of the same package of actions initiated in 2008 in response to the financial meltdown. TALF was … Read More ➡
Alana Goodman in the Washington Examiner details today how Joe Biden, while a member of the U.S. Senate, twice intervened with government officials in a way that benefited clients of his son Hunter’s lobbying firm. The information contradicts Joe Biden’s repeated assertions that his son’s business activities have always been separate from his official duties.
From the article:
The National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group, said Biden should have avoided involvement with issues that his son’s firm was also lobbying on because of the appearance of conflict.
“It’s implausible Sen. Biden did not know his son’s firm was lobbying on this arcane issue,” said Tom Anderson, the director of NLPC’s Government Integrity Project.
“Sometimes appearances are exactly what they are,” he said. “This is a recurring problem we’ve seen on the Hill, where family members are enriched because of their relationship with a member.”
