He’s endorsed by Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. His campaign was powered by the Democratic Socialists of America. His platform? A New York that looks more like a socialist experiment than a functioning city:

Radical Ties, Unanswered Questions
Mamdani is a Shia Muslim who has publicly defended phrases like “globalize the intifada,” backed Hamas-aligned slogans, and attacked U.S. support for Israel. He has called Israel’s war on Hamas “genocide,” while refusing to unequivocally acknowledge Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.
He married earlier this year, just three months after meeting his wife on a dating app. And while that’s his personal business, the rapid personal rise — paired with the meteoric political ascent — has many wondering: Who’s backing Mamdani? Who built his infrastructure? Who’s writing the checks?
He’s received millions in progressive donations and backing from national groups with long histories of anti-capitalist, anti-Israel, and anti-American views.
And while Mamdani cannot legally run for president — having become a citizen in 2018 — that hasn’t stopped leftist legal scholars and activist judges in the past from challenging constitutional constraints when it suits their political aims.
A Media Makeover — and a Strategic Distraction
The media is already pushing Mamdani as the “exciting new leader” of the Democratic Party. He’s young. He’s eloquent. He’s polished. He takes great photos. That’s the pitch. But behind the camera-friendly facade is a deeply radical worldview that deserves serious scrutiny.
Obama dazzled his way to power with charisma and carefully crafted ambiguity. Now, Mamdani is following the same script — only this time, the ideology isn’t hidden. It’s broadcast proudly.
If Democrats want to distract the public from their failures — Biden’s collapse, Harris’s invisibility, and the economic mess they’ve created — Mamdani is their perfect diversion.
