Complaint Filed Against Rep. Ihan Omar for ‘Implausible’ Financial Disclosures

National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) has filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Conduct (OCC), formerly known as the Office of Congressional Ethics, against Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) regarding her financial disclosures that show a sudden and inexplicable increase in the her personal wealth, and that of her husband, Tim Mynett.

NLPC Chairman Peter Flaherty told Isabel Vincent of the New York Post, “The information in Omar’s financial disclosures, and her public statements about her finances, are simply implausible. There needs to be a real investigation,”

NLPC Counsel Paul Kamenar asserted in the complaint that Omar exhibited “profound stupidity” by claiming that her income, and not the multimillion dollar assets, determines the couple’s wealth.

The complaint also contains a count regarding Omar’s advice to illegal Somali immigrants to not speak or cooperate with federal ICE agents.
