Today, NLPC filed a formal complaint with the Senate Ethics Committee against U.S. Senate Candidate from Maryland, Angela Alsobrooks, for failing to disclose on her financial disclosure forms that she owed the District of Columbia over $47,000 in back property taxes on property she got from her grandmother in a questionable transaction and thereafter improperly continued the senior citizen reduced tax benefit and the homestead exemption as her principal residence, when in fact she rented it out and lived in Maryland.
NLPC also listed several other errors in her report and asked the Ethics Committee to conduct a full investigation, issue subpoenas, and refer the matter to the Department of Justice for civil and criminal enforcement.
NLPC’s complaint was reported in The Free Beacon today by Andrew Kerr and by WJLA TV, the local ABC station.

“Regardless of whether Alsobrooks wins the election tomorrow against former Governor Larry Hogan, NLPC will continue to press the Ethics Committee to take enforcement action against Alsobrooks, who is former local prosecutor,” said Paul Kamenar, counsel to NLPC who filed the complaint.
