Business Insider reports that BlackRock Chairman/CEO Larry Fink is indifferent about the outcome of the U.S. election in a couple weeks:
“I’m tired of hearing this is the biggest election in your lifetime,” Fink told a conference hosted by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association on Monday, in remarks reported by The Financial Times.
“The reality is over time, it doesn’t matter,” he added.
However, it appears political contributor Larry Fink feels differently, based upon FEC campaign finance report filings for this cycle:
Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio (D): $3,300
Sen. Jon Tester of Montana (D): $3,300
Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia (D): $6,600
Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia (D): $6,600
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York (D): $6,600
Jeffries Victory Fund (NY, D): $11,600
Jobs, Education & Families First PAC (D): $5,000
Fink’s only support for a Republican this cycle is Rep. Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, who “sits on the House Financial Services Committee [and] serves on the Subcommittees on Capital Markets and the Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion.” That may have something to do with Fink’s professional concerns, but not so much that he has donated to any other GOP candidates since September 2023.
Of course, Fink is well-known to speak out of both sides of his mouth. Go by what he does, not what he says.
