Florida Steelworkers Local Secretary Charged with Theft

On November 28, Alfred Jenkins, former secretary-treasurer of Local 9-475 of the United Steelworkers of America, was charged in the 13th Circuit Court of Polk County, Florida, with theft of $4,737.45 in funds from the Eaton Park union. Jenkins currently is on supervised probation for unrelated convictions for kidnapping and armed robbery. The charge follows an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department's Office of Labor-Management Standards.
