South Carolina Secretary Pleads Guilty to Theft, Records Fraud

On February 11, Christina Geathers, former financial secretary-treasurer of Local 357 of the United Steelworkers of America in Georgetown, S.C., was indicted in federal court on one count of embezzling union funds totaling $36,865 and two counts of filing false reports with the U.S. Department of Labor. (3/23/09).
