Jury Convicts Thug of Shooting Two Cops at Protest; Obama Justice Department Enabled Attack

barack-obama-eric-holder-loretta-lynchThe violence may be a memory, but there is now a welcome reminder of the consequences. Last Thursday, December 8, a St. Louis County, Mo. jury found a young black male, Jeffrey Williams, guilty on six criminal counts related to the malicious gun wounding of two unnamed police officers in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson in March 2015. The incident occurred during a street rally organized by the radical social media network, Black Lives Matter, to protest the shooting death of an “unarmed” black male, Michael Brown, by a white Ferguson cop the previous August. A grand jury months later had decided the evidence was insufficient to indict the officer, an announcement that triggered destructive rioting. Reprehensible as the rioting and shootings were, the Obama administration tacitly encouraged this behavior.

If any one event underscores the futility of achieving a ‘post-racial’ society in contemporary America, the death of Michael …

Sharpton Demands ‘Justice’ in Wake of Charlotte, Tulsa Police Shootings

sharptoncrumpAl Sharpton is at it again, doing what he does best:  misrepresenting facts and mobilizing crowds.  The man known as Reverend Al is demanding the arrest of police officers in Charlotte and Tulsa for their roles in the recent shooting deaths of blacks who were resisting arrest.  In Charlotte, blacks rioted for three nights over the death of Keith Scott, a hardcore felon.  That the cop who shot him also was black, and with apparent justification, was insignificant to the rioters.  In Tulsa, a prosecutor charged a white female cop with first-degree manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Terence Crutcher, a heavy PCP user.  In the face of this, Sharpton and his ally, Benjamin Crump (in photo), part of the Crutcher family legal team, are insisting on what amounts to an abandonment of due process.  Meanwhile, a federal civil rights probe is underway.

The script is familiar:  Al Sharpton, now …

Mainstream Media Enable Black Lives Matter, Legitimize Cop-Killing

The ambush murders of five Dallas police officers on July 7, followed ten days later by the murders of three Baton Rouge cops, outraged the nation.  To the social media network of provocateurs called Black Lives Matter (BLM), however, these massacres were equivalent to recent white police “murders” of blacks.  Though evidence negates such equivalence, many journalists are insisting that we see these events through the group’s lens.  Rather than objectively pursue truth, they selectively use facts and manipulate language to propagate the view that blacks are being targeted for death and are justified in taking matters into their own hands.  Case in point:  Last December, as part of its annual Person of the Year issue, Time magazine praised BLM as having “weaponized protest.”

Since the start of this year, National Legal and Policy Center has published more than a half-dozen highly critical stories of Black Lives Matter and its …

Google, Facebook, Twitter Execs Asked to End Support for ‘Black Lives Matter’ in Wake of Baton Rouge Police Murders

In the wake of the murder of three police officers in Baton Rouge, we are today asking Eric Schmidt of Google, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, and Jack Dorsey of Twitter to end their personal and corporate support for Black Lives Matter (BLM). The letters read in part:

Billionaires don’t have to worry about their personal security, but working people and the poor do.

Your support for Black Lives Matter is helping to fray the social fabric in cities all over the country, cities in which you do not live. The American people — both liberal and conservative — are increasingly concerned about corporate executives who put their own interests above those of our country.

BLM deliberately and recklessly seeks to poison the relationship between the police and ordinary citizens.

The most successful police forces practice community-based policing, which relies on mutual trust and respect. That is why it has been …

Dallas Police Murders Have ‘Black Lives Matter’ Fingerprints All Over Them

The sniper-style murders of five Dallas police officers last Thursday night should provoke universal outrage.  Yet many observers are justifying them.  While not defending the killings, they are assuming moral equivalence between the massacre and earlier deaths of criminal suspects in police custody.  They claim the murderer, a black ex-Army reservist, Micah X. Johnson, killed by police during a standoff, was a “lone wolf,” not one of the peaceful protestors.  This is nonsense.  The tactics differ; the goals are the same.  Dallas Police Chief David Brown, also black, admits Johnson was driven by a hatred of whites.  And that’s what drives Black Lives Matter, the social network behind protests in Dallas and other cities that enables this attitude.

National Legal and Policy Center several times this year has put Black Lives Matter (BLM) and its enablers under the spotlight for poisoning debate on race.  More than once, its members have …

Facebook Suppresses Story Critical of Black Lives Matter; Censorship Alive and Well Despite Zuckerberg Assurances

Last month, CEO Mark Zuckerberg hosted a summit with “leading conservatives” at Facebook’s Menlo Park, Calif. offices, in which he sought to ease concerns about a liberal bias in the social media company’s “trending” features.

Whether that problem has been fixed or not, it appears that Facebook is currently engaging in “viewpoint discrimination” in another way, namely in its service which allows users to “boost” a story, for which Facebook receives a fee.

On Friday of last week, we posted a story on our website and on our Facebook page titled “Prosecutors Clear Police in Jamar Clark Death; Demagogues Cry Foul.”  Authored by Carl Horowitz of our staff, it is the story of the exploitation of the shooting of a black suspect by two white police officers in Minneapolis by Black Lives Matter and other extremists to inflame racial tension.

Almost simultaneously, we posted another story titled “House Thwarts

Prosecutors Clear Police in Jamar Clark Death; Demagogues Cry Foul

The accusations looked suspicious from the start.  And now federal as well as state prosecutors have debunked them.  On June 1, U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger announced that he would not pursue civil rights charges against two white Minneapolis police officers in connection with the November shooting death of an unruly black suspect, Jamar Clark.  The probe concluded there was insufficient evidence that the cops, Mark Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze, had violated Clark’s rights.  The oft-repeated claim that Clark was shot while handcuffed and lying on the ground could not be substantiated.  The decision follows an earlier one on March 30 by the Hennepin County D.A. not to file criminal charges.  Black activists are livid.  They would do well to review the details.

National Legal and Policy Center summarized this incident and its reaction in January as part of a lengthy introductory article on the network of demagogues known as Black …

Social Media CEOs Embrace Black Lives Matter; Censor Critics

Social media is supposed to expand the possibilities of human communication.  Yet an alliance of technology executives and black radicals is trying to restrict them.  Case in point:  Top officials of Crowdpac, Netflix, Twitter, Slack and YouTube donated sizable sums to the Baltimore mayoral campaign of DeRay McKesson (in photo, left).  Though the donations didn’t produce victory, they were highly significant all the same.  McKesson wasn’t just any political candidate.  He’s chief strategist for Black Lives Matter, a collection of demagogues dedicated to stifling debate in cities and on college campuses.  Corporate leaders defend their support as good for “diversity” and thus profits.  Yet a diversity of opinion, most of all, has been the casualty.

To understand why the relationship between corporate chieftains and racial provocateurs is dangerous, it is necessary to summarize what Black Lives Matter (BLM) believes and how it has come so far in a short time.  …

University of Kansas Capitulates to Black Radicals

bernadette-gray-little-ku-chancellor-200x192If there is anything Black Lives Matter activists might enjoy even more than a downtown rally, it’s a campus rally.  The social media-driven network of incendiary racial politicians is now a presence at colleges and universities across the U.S., conducting “anti-racist” campaigns against chosen targets.  Case in point:  the University of Kansas.  Since November, black students at Kansas, inspired by BLM, have intimidated people they deem racist, aware that the feckless administration will do next to nothing to discourage them.  The catalyst for all this was a claim by a black co-ed that several white males assaulted her at an off-campus Halloween party and that local police brushed off her complaint.  Evidence suggests this was a hoax.  The larger issue is academic freedom – and not just at KU.

The higher education gambit by Black Lives Matter, also known by the Twitter hashtag “#BlackLivesMatter,” requires context.  For the group’s influence …

Black Lives Matter Activists Join Anti-Israel Boycott

The American network of demagogues known as Black Lives Matter normally aims its venom at those here who get in its way.  But the group also acts globally.  Operating on the old adage, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend,” this instant mob service is forging ties with a worldwide anti-Israel campaign, Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, or BDS.  Claiming the high moral ground, BDS is committed to the destruction of Israel in the name of "justice" for neighboring Palestinian Arabs.  It views Israel much as Black Lives Matter views America:  a white colonial occupation force oppressing “people of color.”  The two groups are a match.  Yet their political synergy is dangerously naïve.

Black Lives Matter (BLM) got off the ground during the summer of 2013 in the wake of a wholly justified Florida jury verdict not to convict a white neighborhood crime patrol volunteer, George Zimmerman, who had …
